The natural and expected outcome of experiencing Real God is personal transformation into the character and lifestyle of Jesus Christ. Developing as Real People is the second step to our three-step discipleship process. We believe the mission of the church is still to “make disciples” who will reflect the image of Jesus Christ to the world and are able to reproduce themselves in the kingdom of God.
This is what we mean by developing as Real People. Real people know who they are and what their life purpose is. Identity and purpose are discovered through study and life discipline. If we are going to be intentional about producing true disciples, we must first identify the study concentrations that we believe will generate that outcome. Reviewing other established curriculums and surveying Christian leaders both clergy and laity, we have identified five concentrations of study.
• Bible knowledge
• Doctrine/theology
• Evangelism/soul-winning
• Spiritual disciplines
• Life application electives
Through this matrix an individual will be able to get well-balanced and focused training in every aspect of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. Assessment and accountability are the keys to excellence. Through our ACS electronic database we will be able to record what classes have been taken and guide students toward the courses they need for a balanced personal discipleship plan.
This plan is designed to define cause, inspire commitment and achieve community for each student. Each of these three objectives is essential to developing as Real People of God.
